"I wanna do it...I can't do it!"

Alex is obsessed with doing everything himself these days. He gets very offended if you try to help him.  All I hear is "I wanna do it!"followed by "I did it!" or "I can't dooo it."  He really can do a lot himself, more than we give him credit for, and he'll work at things for a long time to figure it out.  He's liable to be our engineer, with his determination and problem solving skills.
