The twins are in first grade now and learning about different famous people for black history month. This leads to some interesting conversations.
I: We learned about Roosevelt Parks today. No, that's not right, I forget her name.
Me: Rosa Parks?
I: Yeah, Rosa Parks.
Me: What did you learn about her?
I: She wouldn't move out of her seat on the bus, and she got arrested, so the brown people stopped riding the bus. Then they started riding the bus again and everybody could sit wherever they wanted.
A: And Martin Luther King died! Rosa Parks died too, but Martin (apparently they're on a first-name basis) died first.
